Brief Biography
Studied art at the Corcoran School of Art with the artists Clarence E. Messer and Richard N. Brooks.
Employed at the United States Bureau of the Census for 41 years as economic analyst of forest products; member of American Society of Foresters;
Exhibited paintings at the National Gallery of Art, the Corcoran Gallery of Art and the Arts Club, in Washington, D.C.;
Founder of the Landscape Club of Washington in 1915, president of the Washington Watercolor Club, officer of the Society of Washington Artists; also member of the Norwegian Society, the Arts Club, the Miniature Arts Club, and the Minnesota State Society.
His works hang in many collections, including the National Museum of American Art (formerly the National Collection of Fine Arts), Washington, D.C., the Corcoran Gallery of Art, Washington, D.C., the United States Library of Congress; the Birmingham Museum of Art; and the District of Columbia Historical Society.
